WHO I AM

Kayla Kendrick, also known as KVYLV KVY or Kayla Kay, is a Cincinnati-based artist and fashion designer. A graduate of CPS, she excelled in her studies, with art always being her primary focus. Having spent much of her youth dedicated to drawing and designing, art became a place of solace for her—a way to express and soothe what she couldn't yet name.

After graduating from the University of Cincinnati’s DAAP program, Kayla fell right into the workforce trying to gain as much experience as she could. She has held positions that span from the marketing industry all the way to the financial crimes industry. She currently works as an art teacher for CPS.

Her work is born from a place of isolation longing for identity, placement, and creative expression. Shaped by nature and shaped by her experience. Her brush moves with intent of power and vulnerability, refusing the limits of societal norms. She spent years searching for a niche to belong to, only to realize she is the niche. Whether it’s fashion or art, her work is intuitive and alive—felt in the soul as much as the eye.
